Toddler Room

The ratio is one member of staff to three babies/infants.
Babies will enter the Toddler Room at around 15 months of age, subject to their progress. At this stage in a child's development, our toddlers are becoming very active and 'independent thinkers', who learn from handling real objects and by experiencing real situations.
Development and progress is at each individual child's own pace, but it can be encouraged and spurred on by creating the right atmosphere and matching the appropriate activities to the child's stage of development, thus maximising the opportunity to allow all round development.
Landmarks in the children's growth and development are assessed every three months, enabling us to detect areas in the child's development that would benefit from further support.
For children in the Toddler Room, the Nursery Nurses offer activities each week based on the normal course of development:
- mental development
- muscular development
- sight and co-ordination of hand and eye
- speech and hearing
- response and play
- sociability
- personality
