Explore our truly unique learning opportunities for babies & children
At Silks Farm Nursery School we offer a rich and varied range of activities across all our age groups that are specifically designed to be fun, interactive and confidence building.
Our child & baby friendly activities include painting, cooking, singing, story-time, messy play, dressing up and role play. In addition, Silks Farm Nursery School is delighted to offer children and babies a variety of extra learning opportunities, unique to our nursery, these include:
Our Organic Kitchen Garden
Providing children with a fantastic opportunity to learn about healthy and delicious food; understanding how fruit and vegetables grow, what they look and feel like and how they taste.
Explore our forest school
The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire children through an innovative, long term, educational approach to outdoor play and learning in a woodland environment. It's all about providing children with unique learning opportunities to explore, learn and play outside.
This wonderful facility provides all of our children with the opportunity to enhance their learning and understanding about the world around them through a range of fun, educational and creative outdoor activities.
Our lovely free-range chickens
A huge hit with all of our children, including our babies. Animals are a great way to teach children to be respectful, caring and thoughtful towards others and the children love to feed, handle and interact with the chickens. An added bonus are the delicious free-range eggs they produce on a daily basis, and the children are encouraged to take home.
A firm favourite with our pre-school children. Once a month we are lucky enough to have two lovely ponies visit the nursery, allowing the children to learn more about looking after and interacting with animals, by grooming, brushing and riding the ponies.
Yoga, French and Music Lessons
All of our pre-school children have access to weekly yoga, French and music lessons, taught by qualified teachers. These extra curricular activities are designed to be fun and interactive, as well as providing structure and opportunities for self expression into the children's daily routine.
